The short version: we collect only what we need to run Sonar, we don't sell your data, and your password is never stored in a readable form.
When you create an account, we collect:
When you use Sonar, we also store the content you create:
Sonar uses the Spotify API to power music search and display album/track information. When you search for music, your query is sent to Spotify's servers. Spotify's own privacy policy applies to that interaction. We do not share your account information with Spotify.
Sonar is hosted on Render. Your data is stored on Render's infrastructure. You can read their privacy policy at render.com/privacy.
Your username, reviews, ratings, Top 5 list, and follower counts are visible to anyone who visits Sonar. Your email address is never displayed publicly.
If you'd like your account and all associated data permanently deleted, contact us and we'll take care of it promptly. We don't make you jump through hoops.
If we ever make meaningful changes to how we handle data, we'll update this page. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
